Low-E Glazing

Improvements in glass technology has allowed designers and builders to use more glazing without severely depleting the energy efficiency of a building. A lot of this is due to Low-E glazing, which stands for low emittance. It is a virtually invisible coating that is able to block a significant amount of solar radiation, while still transmitting visible light. In warmer climates you want to make sure that you specify a Low-E glass with a low SHGC (solar heat gain coefficient).
